Their phenomenal debut single ‘Blue Light’ was recently released, allowing them to truly make their mark on the music industry, with the track maintaining a relaxed rhythm and beat throughout, also showcasing their musical capabilities and vocals. Along with selling out their own headline show in their home city, SUN SILVA also supported Jungle at their recent album launch show. Later this month, the band will be supporting Swimming Girls at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, London.

CelebMix had the opportunity to speak with Charlie and Oscar, two members of the band, about SUN SILVA’s formation, their debut single – ‘Blue Light’ – and more. Keep reading to check out our exclusive interview!
Please introduce yourselves to our CelebMix readers.
“Hi! We are Charlie and Oscar, half of SUN SILVA.”
How did you meet and go on to form the band?
“The four of us met while studying at the Royal Academy Of Music. Although we were all studying to be classical players, we all also love doing other kinds of music, so we started jamming together about three and a half years ago. It was pretty weird music at the beginning, a hybrid of lots of genres. We started properly writing songs about a year and a half ago.”
Your debut single ‘Blue Light’ was recently released. How does it feel to have your own original music released?
“It’s really exciting! We’ve been writing and recording for a long time, so it’s really cool for people to finally hear what we’ve been up to. We can’t wait to show people what else we’ve been working on!”
Music-wise, what else do you have lined up for the remainder of the year and into next year?
“We’re super excited to have been added to the line-up for Jack Saunders’ ‘Hopscotch Tour’ in November. We are really looking forward to playing with the other bands on the tour – Kawala and Apre. Also, ‘Blue Light’ is featured on the ‘FIFA 19’ Soundtrack and the game is out now. We are really pumped for so many people to hear the song. We’ve always joked about having a tune on FIFA, so it’s pretty crazy that it’s now a reality!”
